Tony Brown staggered by what he saw West Brom player do up close vs Swansea
West Brom left Tony Brown stunned in their penalty shootout victory against Swansea City.
West Brom secured a win against Swansea City on Sunday to secure their place in the hat for the FA Cup fourth round draw.
There were questions of James Morrison’s team selection at Swansea, but it ultimately worked to secure a win against Vitor Matos’ side.
Jed Wallace has been linked away from West Brom in recent months, but came off the bench to give the Baggies a 2-1 lead in extra time.
It may have counted for nothing in the end, but that didn’t stop Tony Brown from piling the praise on Wallace’s strike and the build-up play.
Ollie Bostock stuns Tony Brown vs Swansea City
Ollie Bostock left West Brom fans impressed in pre-season and is now looking to have a regular first-team impact at The Hawthorns.
There are high hopes for the 18-year-old in the Black Country as one of the brightest young talents surrounding B71 right now.
He was brought on against Swansea in the 60th minute and was able to take his opportunity with aplomb.
Morrison trusted the youngster to make a difference, and he did exactly that when he set up Wallace for the strike to make it 2-1 on the day.
Bostock has been met by rave reviews from travelling supporters, helped by his winning penalty in the shootout.
Albion legend Brown was in attendance at the Swansea.com stadium and joined in with the positivity as he was left gushing over the attacker and Wallace on BBC Radio WM.
He said: “What a brilliant goal. It’s a terrific finish, but a great ball in to set Wallace up. Absolutely perfect, the weight of the ball and the finish is exquisite.
Bostock stocks on the rise at West Brom
There are already high expectations of what level the teenager could reach in the coming years, for the Baggies.
Bostock is arguably the best product coming through the academy right now and showcased that with an excellent showing against Welsh opposition.
As a Wales under-19 international, he had his chance and showed the West Brom faithful just how good he could be in the West Midlands.
Plenty of supporters at The Hawthorns will now be clamouring to see more of the young attacker, especially with Eric Ramsay set to come in.
It will be interesting to see how the new boss assesses Bostock and what that could mean for his game time across the rest of the season.
