West Brom star reacts as Lyndon Dykes officially seals Birmingham exit

The Championship transfer window is hotting up and West Brom are looking to get involved.

With Eric Ramsay now appointed as West Brom head coach, the 33-year-old will now have the chance to take stock of what he’s got ahead of the final two weeks of the window.

Ramsay will take charge of his first game when West Brom welcome Middlesbrough to The Hawthorns on Friday night, offering him a golden chance to assess his options based on Albion’s performance.

West Brom have been under financial pressure for a number of years now, but Shilen Patel will surely want to back his new head coach as much as possible this month.

Callum Styles reacts to Lyndon Dykes Charlton switch

Despite the team’s struggles on the pitch this season, Callum Styles has consistently been a top performer for West Brom this term.

Playing both at left-back and in central midfield, the Hungarian international has proven to be an excellent signing for the Baggies since joining from Barnsley in the summer of 2024.

Having racked up a number of years’ experience playing Championship football now, Styles will no doubt have struck up friendships with players he’s repeatedly faced off against, and one of those appears to be Lyndon Dykes.

Dykes completed his move from Birmingham to Charlton on Thursday, and in the Addick’s Instagram post announcing the deal, Styles responded by liking the post.

Styles’ 2025-26 season by the numbers

Having started 22 of his 25 Championship appearances so far this season, Styles has once again reaffirmed himself as one of West Brom’s best players.

As per FotMob, the 25-year-old is averaging a 7/10 per league game so far in 2025-26, which is a superb achievement given how poor Albion had been under Ryan Mason.

Styles has won 130 duels, which ranks him in the top two percentiles of his positional peers in the second tier this season, and has won 58 tackles, which ranks in the top three percentiles.

On top of that, he’s won 44 aerial duels and has made 98 recoveries, which is enough to rank him in the top four per cent.

Styles will hope that reinforcements are also coming at The Hawthorns this month.
