West Brom’s media team have really done Eric Ramsay dirty with their latest post
Eric Ramsay hasn’t been covered in glory by West Brom’s social media team.
Ramsay was hired as West Brom’s new manager on Sunday after Ryan Mason’s disastrous reign came to an end on 6 January.
The Baggies sit 18th in the Championship table, and the playoffs seem like a distant possibility, so the 34-year-old will need to get off to a good start at The Hawthorns.
West Brom host Middlesbrough on Friday in what will be Ramsay’s first game in charge, and they’ll be looking to avenge the 2-1 defeat they suffered at the Riverside Stadium on 19 September.
Ahead of the Championship clash, Ramsay was made to look like a fool by the social media team during a giveaway of a West Brom shirt.

Eric Ramsay involved in signature mishap on West Brom’s social media
West Brom fans loved Ramsay’s first interview after being announced, and he arrives in B71 with a great pedigree.
The 34-year-old led MLS side Minnesota United to their highest-ever points tally (58) and recorded a fourth-placed Western Conference finish in the 2025 season.
On Thursday, West Brom’s X account posted a video of him signing a shirt that will be given to a fan ahead of the match against Middlesbrough.
However, he clearly messed up his signature, but the media team refused to do a second take and posted the video online.
It’s a slightly embarrassing look for Ramsay, especially given the fact he hasn’t even taken charge of a game yet in B71.
The last thing he needs is to be subjected to ridicule online because the media team failed to re-shoot the video.
The Baggies could record a statement victory against Kim Hellberg’s side, but they have a lot to learn from the previous meeting this season.
What can Ramsay learn from West Brom’s 2-1 loss vs Middlesbrough in September?
Rob Edwards and Mason were the respective managers in charge when both teams faced off in September, and although Friday promises to be different, Ramsay’s opening match sees him up against a promotion favourite.
The visitors sit second in the table, and despite winning just one of their previous five matches, they still have a formidable attack.
David Strelec and Kaly Sene gave the hosts a 2-0 lead before Aune Heggebo scored a 90th-minute consolation goal.
What’s clear is that both teams are low in confidence, but The Hawthorns should be bouncing as a new era begins.
| Middlesbrough | Stat | West Brom |
| 41 | Possession | 59 |
| 9 | Shots | 15 |
| 1.00 | Expected goals | 0.95 |
| 2 | Big chances | 2 |
| 82% | Pass accuracy | 90% |
Ramsay’s philosophy relies on quick transitions rather than Mason’s possession-based style of play, and it might be best to let the visitors control the majority of the ball.
Middlesbrough could be hard to break down out of possession, but they could be susceptible to the Baggies’ counter-attacking threat.
If the Baggies make the most of their speed out wide, then they could be in for a joyous evening in B71.
It could also mark a wonderful start to Ramsay’s tenure and give him the platform to become successful at West Brom.
