West Brom announce late change to fixture as new date now set
The business end of the 2025-26 Championship season is moving closer on the horizon.
Which part of the division West Brom will be contesting that period in remains unknown, with Ryan Mason’s sacking leaving the club 18th after 26 games.
However, Eric Ramsay has now been appointed as Albion’s new head coach, with his first test coming at The Hawthorns on Friday night when West Brom take on Middlesbrough.
Ramsay may have to largely work with the squad of players he’s got, though, as West Brom may not have money to spend this month.

West Brom’s clash vs Birmingham City moved to new date
Every game counts for Albion now as they hope to spring a late push for the play-offs under Ramsay, or at the very least, comfortably pull away from the threat of relegation.
However, derby games are always circled by supporters as being more important than any other, and Baggies fans won’t have to wait as long to get their hands on Birmingham City again.
Announced via West Brom’s official club website on Friday, Albion’s trip to St Andrew’s to take on Birmingham will now be played on Tuesday, 10 February at 8pm.
The fixture was originally scheduled for 14 February, but has been brought forward due to both clubs’ progression in the FA Cup.
West Brom’s poor recent record at St Andrew’s
Albion will likely go into their game against Birmingham as underdogs on 10 February.
And, given their recent record there in the league, that will be for good reason too.

West Brom haven’t won at St Andrew’s in the league since 14 December 2019, on an afternoon where a late Charlie Austin double saw the Baggies come from behind to win 3-2.
On the basis of what we have seen from Albion on their travels so far this season, that record is only set to extend further.
However, with Ramsey now in place and fans once again fully on board, let’s hope the Baggies finally build some momentum by the time this derby clash comes around.
