Eric Ramsay time at West Brom could be up already after what Gabby Agbonlahor’s just said

West Brom suffered an embarrassing 5-0 loss to Norwich City at The Hawthorns on Tuesday.

Eric Ramsay lost his first West Brom game 3-2 to Middlesbrough at The Hawthorns, although there were positive signs that he could oversee an upturn in form.

However, the Baggies followed that performance up with a dreadful display against Philippe Clement’s side, and they are now under serious threat of being relegated.

West Brom’s loss to Norwich leaves them in 19th place and just three points adrift of the relegation zone.

Gabby Agbonlahor is enjoying West Brom’s struggles and does not believe that they will improve under Ramsay at all.

Ramsay was hired as West Brom’s new manager on 11 January after Ryan Mason’s disastrous Hawthorns reign came to an end on 6 January.

However, the former Minnesota United head coach is yet to see an improvement from his players, and if anything, their performance against Norwich was worse than what was seen under Mason.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday, Agbonlahor couldn’t help but have a dig at West Brom and Ramsay.

After Alan Brazil claimed the Albion players “are not having” Ramsay, Agbonlahor replied: “I agree. You can’t be losing 5-0 at home to Norwich.

“It’s dangerous times for West Brom, which I quite enjoy because I’m not a fan of the Baggies. Boing boing.

“They weren’t very nice to me when I played against them, so long may their struggles continue.”

If it is indeed true that the players are not playing for Ramsay, even at this early stage, there seems to be just one outcome.

What’s even more alarming is that Alan Brazil compared Ramsay’s start in B71 to Wilfried Nancy’s reign at Celtic.

Alan Brazil compares Ramsay to Wilfried Nancy

Nancy joined Celtic from MLS side Columbus Crew, where he enjoyed success and won the MLS Coach of the Year award on 20 November 2024.

However, after making the move to Celtic on 3 December, he lasted just 33 days in charge and became the shortest-serving manager in the club’s history.

Brazil couldn’t help but see the similarities between both managers.

He said: “What is it with all these American coaches we’re going for?”

Ramsay followed in his footsteps by moving from the MLS to the UK, and he’ll be desperate to avoid sealing his own fate at West Brom just like Nancy did at Celtic.

It’s an alarming comparison to make, and Ramsay has a huge task on his hands to make sure he avoids a premature sacking.
