West Brom ready to sign off on exit of Ryan Mason squad player
West Brom are in serious trouble in the Championship.
Eric Ramsay’s first game in charge saw West Brom lose 3-2 to Middlesbrough on 16 January, in a game that saw Albion come from 2-0 down to level it at 2-2, only to lose it in the final minutes of the match.
West Brom then had the opportunity to put that result behind them on Tuesday night, but were embarrassed at The Hawthorns as Norwich ran out 5-0 winners.
It was a result that leaves any notion of a new manager bounce in tatters, and Albion sitting 19th in the Championship, just three points above the relegation zone.
Ramsay has admitted he needs to go back to the drawing board already following the defeat to Norwich, whilst Gabby Agbonlahor revels in Albion’s situation.

West Brom to sanction another exit for Cole Deeming
Ramsay has been warned that money may not be available to spend in this winter window, as West Brom continue to manage their financial situation.
Former head coach Ryan Mason was backed fairly heavily in this season’s summer transfer window, and as such, Ramsay now looks set to pay for that in the way of potentially penniless budget.
Therefore, outgoings may well be the main interest for West Brom as the clock ticks ever closer to the 2 February deadline.
Ramsay will still look to put his stamp on things in any way he can in the remainder of the window, and that includes making judgements on a number of players on the fringes of the first-team squad.
And he appears to have come to a conclusion regarding young midfielder, Cole Deeming, who has been on the periphery of the senior side this season.
As per a report from journalist Pete O’Rourke via X on Wednesday, West Brom will sanction a loan exit for Deeming to the EFL this month.
The central midfielder had been with National League side Truro City on loan for the final couple of months of last year.
He was involved in six Championship matchday squads under Mason this season, and was on the bench in Ramsay’s debut game in charge against Middlesbrough.
However, he failed to see action on any of those occasions, with West Brom evidently feeling he’s not quite ready to dive into the deep end that is second tier football just yet.
Who is Cole Deeming?
A 19-year-old central midfielder, Deeming is a boyhood West Brom fan, and has been in Albion’s academy system since the age of six.
Having consistently impressed throughout his years developing as a youngster, the left-footed midfielder made his senior debut for Albion in August 2024 under Carlos Corberan, in a League Cup game against Fleetwood Town.
Deeming’s contract was originally set to expire this summer, but in August last year, he penned an extension with Albion until June 2027.
