West Brom defender wants January exit as director speaks out
West Brom have had their fair share of transfer trouble over the years.
Positive signings have been few and far between at The Hawthorns, with Max O’Leary’s move from Bristol City to West Brom being the latest.
The goalkeeper dropped a clanger on his debut as West Brom drew 1-1 with Derby County, as a sense of inevitability surrounded the 29-year-old.
The Baggies have also failed on the flip side, with sales going on to be successful elsewhere, with the likes of Caleb Taylor thriving away from West Brom this campaign.
Another defender has temporarily departed the Black Country, but seems keen to make their move permanent this winter.

Michael Parker keen on West Brom exit
Michael Parker departed West Brom for Orgryte earlier in January, as an initial trial period was agreed away from B71.
The defender has spent time at Hereford this season, but returned to the Albion before making a temporary stint abroad.
He only signed for the Baggies in 2024 as interest from Stoke City was rebuffed to agree a Hawthorns switch from Burnley.
It looks as if his time in the Midlands could be set for an early end after a hugely enjoyable spell with Orgryte in Sweden.
Speaking to local outlet Goteborgs-Posten, Parker has revealed that he would be willing to agree a move to Scandinavia at the end of his trial.
He said: “I’m open to coming here. I’ve enjoyed being here these two weeks. Now it’s up to God. What he wants will happen.”
Orgryte director speaks out on Parker signing
Pontus Farnerud is the director of the Swedish outfit and has also made his feelings known on the work of Parker.
He has also spoken out to Goteborgs-Posten to reveal that a permanent deal could be on the cards for the West Brom youngster.
He said: “I can’t say that here and now. But we will, of course, talk to the agent shortly. Then we’ll see. That’s the most interesting thing for us, then it’s a bit about costs, what it would entail.

“Then we have to prioritise in relation to other positions and players that we are looking at. We have had a good dialogue with the agent, and the player has got a good feeling for the club. Then you never know, that’s how it is.”
That sort of glowing review points towards a permanent January switch being on the cards for Parker as talks look set to begin.
The Baggies are unlikely to massively gain from the deal, but allowing a youngster to go out and forge a career away from B71 could work for all parties.
