West Brom fans blown away as Eric Ramsay eyes ‘amazing’ new transfer – ‘What a signing that would be’

Eric Ramsay is still looking to make a couple of new additions to his West Brom squad.

West Brom signed goalkeeper Max O’Leary from Bristol City earlier this week and became Ramsay‘s first signing as Albion boss.

Ramsay was hired as West Brom’s new manager on 11 January, but has failed to win any of this first three matches in charge.

He is in desperate need of reinforcements across the pitch, and despite Shilen Patel’s financial restraints, the chairman must do whatever it takes to back the new manager in the winter transfer window.

West Brom fans thrilled with potential Fisayo Dele-Bashiru signing

West Brom drew 1-1 with Derby on Friday, and it’s clear that another midfielder is needed in B71.

According to Italian outlet Repubblica, West Brom hold concrete interest in Lazio’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

The Albion are pursuing the 24-year-old, who is free to leave the Italian side this winter, and has several English clubs after him.

Dele-Bashiru has fallen out of favour with manager Maurizio Sarri, and could make a return to England after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in 2023.

Fans online were quick to react to the news, with many excited at what the Nigeria international could bring to The Hawthorns.

One supporter confused Dele-Bashiru with his brother, Tom, who is currently on Watford’s books, but plays out in Turkey.

A response to that said: “It’s the Watford ones brother, arguably the better one, Fisayo is who we are interested in, played for Sheffield Wednesday.”

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is the perfect Toby Collyer replacement

Dele-Bashiru has had a much better career than this brother and is fresh off playing at AFCON with Nigeria, who finished third.

Although he’s not wanted by Lazio, he’s a top player who can play in any position across the midfield.

More importantly, he is a perfect replacement for the departed Toby Collyer.

The 21-year-old featured in 12 Championship games under Ryan Mason, becoming a bright spark in midfield since moving to West Brom on loan from Man United in the summer.

However, Collyer suffered a calf injury in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham on 26 November, and his loan spell was swiftly cut short.

Both Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt have struggled with injuries in recent weeks, and added depth in midfield is a necessity.

Dele-Bashiru fits the criteria of a player who can have an impact under Ramsay, and the Baggies can’t afford to miss out on him.
