Joseph Rosales could join West Brom immediately, Eric Ramsay is now desperate

Transfer business at West Brom is now starting to heat up in the final days of the winter window.

Overall, it has been a fairly quiet window for the Baggies in terms of incomings, but that may be down to uncertainty over their manager.

Ryan Mason was relieved of his duties at the beginning of January, with Eric Ramsay taking over a week later.

As of now, Max O’Leary remains the only new arrival for the B71 outfit, although, Louie Barry has been linked to return to The Hawthorns, after he spent 10 years in the club’s academy.

Oliver Bostock looks to be leaving on loan in the coming days as well, but Ramsay may be about to sign another player.

Joseph Rosales to West Brom moving quickly

A second signing of the winter window could arrive sooner than later, after the latest update about Joseph Rosales.

Reports on Wednesday morning circulated that Ramsay was eyeing Rosales as a West Brom signing.

Ramsay has managed Rosales before, with the two crossing paths at Minnesota United in the MLS.

The player has since been traded to Austin FC for the upcoming MLS season, but that will not stop any potential transfer.

According to Honduran journalist Gustavo Roca, Rosales “could leave MLS immediately” as West Brom look to sign him.

The Baggies will have to pay more than the $1.2million (£800,000) fee that the Texas-based club spent on the Honduran.

Who could Joseph Rosales replace at West Brom?

If Rosales signs for the Baggies, there are a couple of players that could see their minutes at the club drop.

The Honduran is capable of playing in multiple positions but has mostly played out on the left, either in midfield or defence.

Callum Styles has been the first-choice left-back this season, so he could have more competition for that starting spot in the squad.

Additionally, Karlan Grant has spent most of his time as a left midfielder. It remains to be seen where Rosales will fit in, but at Minnesota under Ramsay, left-back was his role.
