West Brom edge closer to Eric Ramsay priority signing in exciting transfer update

West Brom have been far too quiet in the transfer window as they look to avoid relegation under Eric Ramsay.

West Brom drew 1-1 with Derby last Friday, and the result leaves them just three points clear of safety in the Championship table.

The Baggies spent heavily in the summer transfer window, and it looks as though they are feeling the after-effects in January.

Goalkeeper Max O’Leary moved to West Brom from Bristol City last week, becoming Ramsay‘s first signing as Albion manager.

It now looks as if Ramsay will address one of his priorities before the transfer deadline on 2 February.

Eric Ramsay to prioritise signing a right wing-back

Shilen Patel is under pressure from fans to deliver, yet the chairman has made it clear that the Baggies won’t spend much money in the winter transfer market.

The Baggies are in a relegation battle, and change is needed in the team; otherwise, they could be staring at the unthinkable prospect of playing in League One next season.

West Brom news account EyaWeGew recently reported on X that the plan is to bring in two or three more players, with the right wing-back position being a priority.

He added in a post on Thursday morning that a move is now edging closer for Ramsay’s priority position in what can be considered an exciting update for supporters.

Isaac Price has been used as a right wing-back by Ramsay, which is a move that has gone down incredibly poorly at The Hawthorns.

To play the team’s most creative central player in a defensive role out wide is baffling, and it’s no shock that the Baggies want added depth.

Joseph Rosales could be an extra option at right wing-back

With Patel refusing to compromise West Brom’s financial position, it would be no surprise if they target someone on loan.

West Brom are also linked with Austin FC’s Joseph Rosales, and the 25-year-old has all the qualities needed to play at right wing-back.

Having played under Ramsay at Minnesota United, he is definitely someone that the head coach can count on, and the Honduras international’s versatility is invaluable.

This potentially spells trouble for the likes of George Campbell and Alfie Gilchrist, who were trusted by Ryan Mason.

Campbell can feature at centre-back in the current 3-4-3 system, but Gilchrist is someone who may endure a lack of game time under Ramsay.
