Sky Sports reporter witnesses something he’s never seen in Portsmouth vs West Brom – ‘Incredible’
West Brom were terrible in their 3-0 loss to Portsmouth on Saturday afternoon.
Eric Ramsay‘s miserable start to his reign in the dugout continued as goals from Conor Chaplin, Millinic Alli and Ebou Adams condemned his side to another loss.
The visitors tried to reduce the deficit, but they had just as much luck in front of the goal as they did defending their own.
The Baggies are well and truly in a relegation battle, sitting just three points outside of the drop zone after the result, with Blackburn having a game in hand.

What moment in Portsmouth vs West Brom left pundit stunned?
West Brom were two down after 25 minutes, as the hosts made their possession count in the early stages.
Mark McAdam was stunned by the second Pompey goal at Fratton Park, which came from a well-worked move before Alli finished it off.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on 31 January, he said: “It’s outstanding all-around.
“It starts with Dozzell, a deep-lying midfielder, who sees an incredible pass.
“The offside trap is beat and [goalscorer] is calm on the ball. It’s his first goal for Portsmouth. I’ve never seen John Mousinho’s side play this well in the Championship.”
Where has it all gone wrong for West Brom?
There were hopes that things would improve with the addition of Matt O’Leary between the sticks, but that has not been the case.
The ex-Bristol City man was supposed to ease the chaos, as Ryan Mason could not make his mind up on Josh Griffiths or Joe Wildsmith.
However, O’Leary has conceded four goals in his first two matches as the Baggies’ starter, which raises questions over his position in the future.
| Stats | O’Leary |
| Appearances | 2 |
| Clean sheets | 0 |
| Goals conceded | 4 |
Of course, it is not just his fault, as the likes of Chris Mepham and Nat Phillips have not been the reliable presences that Albion need at the back.
Ramsay needs something to change shortly; otherwise, he will surely suffer the same fate as Mason did, and the Throstles will be back to square one, looking for another new manager.
His tactics seem the be the obvious option, as he has so far refused to move away from his system with wing-backs that he also preferred at Minnesota United.
The result looks brilliant for the hosts, and they were good value for it, but the Baggies did not do themselves any favours and probably made them look better than they actually are on a dimsal afternoon.
There will be huge concerns amid the fanbase given how the Ramsay era has started, and the pressure will only increase after an utterly embarrassing result.
