Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba left out of Aston Villa squad as West Brom agree last-gasp transfer

Aston Villa youngster Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba is edging closer to a West Brom return.

Jimoh-Aloba emerged as a loan target for West Brom in the latter stages of the winter window as their Championship disaster continues.

Eric Ramsay is coming under pressure already at The Hawthorns, with West Brom’s 3-0 defeat against Portsmouth sparking toxic scenes between players and supporters.

That isn’t likely to be helped with fans unhappy with West Brom’s move for Jimoh-Aloba as the Baggies prepare to bring in another Villa player temporarily.

It now looks as if a Hawthorns switch is imminent for Jimoh-Aloba, as the Aston Villa squad to face Brentford was named on Sunday.

Unai Emery already has a plan for Jimoh-Aloba at Villa Park, and it seems as if that kickstarts with a move to the Black Country this winter.

The 19-year-old scored his first goal in claret and blue on Thursday as he netted the winner in the Europa League for the Villans.

He tucked home a strike to secure a 3-2 win against RB Salzburg, but that looks likely to be his final action for Villa this campaign.

The teen has now been left out of Emery’s squad as the B6 outfit prepare to face Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday.

That has opened the door to a West Brom move, with a deal seemingly set to be announced ahead of the January transfer deadline.

West Brom agree Jimoh-Aloba loan deal

The Baggies faithful may not be happy with another loan agreement with Villa, but it looks set to go through within hours.

TalkWBA reported via X on Sunday that a deal for Jimoh-Aloba to The Hawthorns can be considered a done deal.

An agreement has been reached between the Villans and West Brom, with the teen only wanting a return to his boyhood club this winter.

The teenager will now wait on final contracts to be signed in B71 after turning down interest from other sides in January.
