Eric Ramsay’s latest signing is on his way to West Brom’s training ground, announcement to come

West Brom look set to kickstart their transfer deadline day with the expected arrival of Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba on Monday.

Eric Ramsay is looking to transform a dreadful start to life at The Hawthorns, with the real possibility that the Baggies end the week in the relegation zone.

Max O’Leary is the only new arrival so far, with his start also comical in net.

Jimoh-Aloba will hope to change that, though, with a return to his boyhood club on the cards before the 7:00 pm deadline on Monday.

Jimoh-Aloba was left out of Aston Villa’s squad for their 1-0 defeat against Brentford on Sunday, with the door left open for his temporary exit.

Things have progressed since then, with the midfielder now on his way to the West Brom training ground.

EyaWeGew has reported on X that everything will be formalised and announced before the end of play on Monday, as the clock ticks down.

Jimoh-Aloba back to where it all began

Of course, West Brom are known for raising some of the best talent in the game.

Morgan Rogers is the perfect example of that, moving on to Manchester City before eventually exploding into life at Aston Villa in recent seasons via Middlesbrough.

Tim Iroegbunam, Finn Azaz and Chris Wood are just some of the other examples to have shone in English football over recent years.

Jimoh-Aloba is yet to get anywhere near that level, but his first senior goal in the Europa League against RB Salzburg only last week is a great start.

After a late cameo against Arsenal in the Premier League back in December, it is clear that Unai Emery has high hopes for the England youth international.

With exposure more regularly needed, where better to get that than at your boyhood club when things continue to go wrong, and a hero is needed?

Jimoh-Aloba can hopefully provide that for Ramsay and the Baggies, or they could be staring down the barrell of an embarrassing relegation to League One.
