West Brom line up new boardroom addition after Andrew Nestor exit news
Andrew Nestor’s time at West Brom is over after 18 months at the club.
Nestor has presided over a tumultuous period where Albion have been trying to take off the shackles of the Guochuan Lai era.
While the exit has yet to be announced officially by the Baggies, several reports have claimed that the club president has quit his post at The Hawthorns.
The West Midlands seem to already have a new appointment lined up for the technical director role.
West Brom ready for change already after Nestor exit
Dominic Price is the name that appears to be the frontrunner to take over from Nestor’s technical director role, and the club are acting quickly to get him in.
Simon Jones reported on 1 February that the Black Country outfit are poised to appoint the ex-Liverpool analyst as their new technical director.
The 35-year-old has held the same position with Maccabi Tel Aviv for the last three years since leaving the Reds.
Who is Dominic Price?
Price was highly-regarded in his time with the Anfield club, before he went off to forge his own path with the Israeli club.
He earned a law degree at Liverpool John Moores University before joining the Merseysiders’ academy from 2014 to 2020.
He then worked at Blackpool in a coaching role, before returning to the Reds to work as a first-team post-match analyst in 2022.
| Role | Club | Duration |
| Academy staff | Liverpool | 2014-2020 |
| Coach | Blackpool | 2020-22 |
| First-team post-match analyst | Liverpool | 2022-23 |
| Technical Director | Maccabi Tel-Aviv | 2023-present |
Maccabi then poached his services for their technical director role in 2023, and there are questions over his suitability for the role with the Baggies, given his inexperience.
He has no experience in the role that he would take up with the Throstles, in either the Premier League or Championship, which would be a major concern, if he ends up being hired for the post.
The B71 outfit need an experienced operator with knowledge of how the division works, and the ability to cope with the demands of running such a big club, and the expectations that come with that.
It seems like Price would be a gamble on both of those fronts, especially with Albion sitting in such a precarious position, just three points out of the relegation zone.
Supporters are tired of the direction that the club is heading in under Bilkul Football, and appointing the ex-Liverpool man will not change that.
