Dominic Solanke reacts to West Brom surgery news as gutting message sent
West Brom have suffered yet another setback this term, with Karlan Grant set to miss around three months of action.
Grant was forced off after just eight minutes against Derby County at the end of January, after racking up 90 minutes in each of West Brom’s matches stretching back to the 3-1 defeat against QPR in early December.
In a season full of woes at The Hawthorns, Grant has been one of the more consistent performers under both Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay, though he has found goals hard to come by, like many of his team-mates.
Grant posted a gutting message on Instagram following his surgery, prompting reactions from many of his on-pitch colleagues, including Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke.

After missing five matches through injury in September and October, Grant continued to rack up minutes during Albion’s tumultuous period under Mason – with 1,564 so far this season.
However, it was confirmed following the recent draw with Derby that the versatile attacker would miss a period of around three months with a hamstring injury.
Taking to Instagram following his surgery, Grant said: “What doesn’t break you only makes you stronger! Surgery went well thank God.
“Road to recovery let’s get it.”
Receiving messages from players across English football, there was plenty of support for Grant after the setback.
Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke replied to Grant’s post with two praying emojis after he himself has battled with injury struggles in recent times for Spurs before his recent return.
Born just four days apart, Solanke and Grant spent time together throughout the England youth setup before the latter’s England career came to an end at Under-19 level in 2015.

West Brom are in desperate need of a resurgence
Grant’s injury is yet another setback for a Baggies side in need of both goals and points.
Albion have scored more than both Blackburn and Portsmouth ahead of them in the Championship standings, though they have scored just three times since Ramsay’s appointment last month – picking up just one point in the process.
West Brom’s heavy 3-0 defeat to Portsmouth at the weekend left the Baggies vulnerable to the relegation zone, and they finally dropped in on Tuesday night as a result of Blackburn’s 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday.
Things are not looking up under Ramsay thus far, and with two huge matches against Stoke and Birmingham to come, the Baggies are in desperate need of a resurgence. Grant’s injury has absolutely not aided them in this regard.
