West Brom fans already sick of Eric Ramsay after what’s been said on Stoke City draw
West Brom fans are losing patience with under pressure new head coach Eric Ramsay.
West Brom’s goalless draw with Stoke City on Saturday extended their winless run to seven games, with Ramsay still searching for his first victory in charge.
Prior to the Championship clash, pressure was ramping up on West Brom boss Ramsay to keep his job, despite only being in charge for four weeks.
His cause may not have been helped by the turmoil at the boardroom level, with president and sporting director Andrew Nestor leaving West Brom last Friday.
And despite Ramsay trying to draw positives from their stalemate with Stoke, it seems West Brom fans’ patience is starting to wear thin.
West Brom fans tear into Eric Ramsay’s ‘word salad’
West Brom’s draw, coupled with Leicester City’s points deduction, lifted them out of the relegation zone by a point to 20th place.
While West Brom secured a clean sheet, this was not a game for the footballing purists, with Stoke boss Mark Robins saying it was a “rubbish game” that he “didn’t enjoy at all”.
Ramsay, on the other hand, cut a more upbeat tone, which is understandable when the Welshman is trying to help his side stave off relegation.
He told West Brom’s media team: “It wasn’t the result for sure, but it had components of the performance that we were just desperate for, and we talked about all week, and I was really pleased with the way we responded.
“We’re trying to find a way of arresting the really difficult form, and tonight was a big step forward in that sense.
“First clean sheet in 11, which was crucial, and I think between putting to bed the away record to an extent and being able to do what we’ve done tonight, they’re really important milestones, and we’ve got to make sure we build on them.”
But some West Brom fans were having none of it.
One fan tweeted: “0-0 stops the rot, we stuck with them, and we are out of bottom 3. Will support this team every second of the way until the end of the season. If he keeps us up, thank him, then get rid, please. He is not the man going forward. But survival is all that matters.”
Another wrote on X: “Away record is going to be one of the worst in football history soon. ******* garbage players.”
And one West Brom supporter commented: “******* low bar!! Can’t wait to see his interview when we get a hiding off the Blues.”

Why West Brom face crucial month amid relegation battle
While West Brom, who have the Championship’s second-worst away form, are back out of the bottom three by a solitary point, they face a crucial run of fixtures in the coming weeks.
Ergo, they could be back in the relegation zone very soon. But there are some, on paper, winnable games in this February stretch.
Indeed, they host lowly Charlton Athletic at The Hawthorns on 24 February, before travelling to second from bottom Oxford United four days later.
| West Brom’s next Championship fixtures | Opponent’s league position |
| Birmingham City vs West Brom | 10th |
| West Brom vs Coventry City | 1st |
| West Brom vs Charlton Athletic | 18th |
| Oxford United vs West Brom | 23rd |
Before then, they head to in-form local rivals Birmingham City on Tuesday night, with the Blues picking up 11 points from a possible 15.
Before hosting table-topping Coventry City on 21 February, West Brom travel to Norwich City in round four of the FA Cup a week prior – with their 5-0 loss to the Canaries in the Championship still fresh in the mind.
If they can get some wins on the board, things will look a lot rosier. If not, Ramsay could be out of the job.
