Eric Ramsay could have perfect tonic as West Brom eye 18-year first vs Norwich City
Eric Ramsay will be looking to achieve a West Brom feat not seen since 2007-08 when they face Norwich in the FA Cup.
It has been a disappointing league campaign for the Baggies, who are currently embroiled in a relegation fight.
Ramsay’s arrival has not had as much impact as the board would have hoped, with the Englishman still yet to win a game.
However, despite that, West Brom have come out of the relegation zone in recent weeks, providing some hope the 33-year-old can save the Midlands club from the drop.
Now, the action turns to the FA Cup, where Ramsay will be hoping to make West Brom history, in what could be a turning point for his tenure.

West Brom eye 18-year away record vs Norwich
It is not often you face the same side twice in one season away from home, and it can only happen depending on cup draws.
However, West Brom are now set to play Norwich at Carrow Road for the second time this campaign as they gear up for an FA Cup showdown on Saturday.
Earlier in the season, under the tenure of Ryan Mason, the Baggies were on the winning side in this fixture, with Josh Maja scoring the only goal of the game.
Now, if Ramsay can guide his side to the same outcome, it could hand West Brom an 18-year first, as they have not beaten the same side away from home twice in one season since 2007-2008.
In that year, West Brom actually managed that feat on two occasions, beating both Coventry and Peterborough away from home twice.
What happened last time West Brom played Norwich?
It was not too long ago when these two outfits faced off against each other, and Ramsay was in charge at that point.
While West Brom got one over the Canaries at Carrow Road earlier in the season, the new Baggies chief will be hoping to avoid the same outcome as their last matchup.
On 20 January, Norwich handed West Brom a 5-0 defeat in the Championship, in what was an extremely timid display at The Hawthorns.
| West Brom vs Norwich head-to-head | Total |
| Games won | 30 |
| Games drawn | 18 |
| Games lost | 24 |
Since then, there has been a slight uptick in form. The Baggies have drawn three of their next four following that game.
Only five points separate the two sides in the Championship, so it could end up being a close matchup. Hopefully the magic of the FA Cup is on Ramsay’s side, as he continues to be under pressure.
