Norwich City vs West Brom postponement latest as weather warning issued

West Brom’s FA Cup fourth-round trip to Norwich City on Saturday could be affected by a weather warning that has been issued.

The Met Office has shared a yellow weather warning for 14 February, with ice expected to disrupt travel plans.

It states a band of sleet and rain will make its way southwards on Friday evening and overnight, with temperatures falling below freezing for much of England.

That could have implications for the Carrow Road clash and the Baggies supporters travelling to the match.

Will Norwich vs West Brom be postponed?

The likelihood of the match being postponed seems quite small, because the warning does not affect Norwich or the East Anglia region.

However, it has the potential to cause problems for visiting supporters who are making their way to the contest, as it affects the Birmingham area, where The Hawthorns club are located.

With the match kicking off at 15:00 GMT, temperatures are expected to be around 4 degrees celsius, with seven miles per hour winds.

The weather may be the least of West Brom’s worries

A trip to Norwich, with snowy and icy conditions, is not a nice experience at the best of times, as Throstles supporters know well, but it could be even more uncomfortable for Albion supporters this time around.

The last time that the sides faced off, was at the Baggies’ ground, and the visitors walked away with a 5-0 victory on an embarrassing night for Eric Ramsay‘s charges.

The manager may be tempted to make multiple changes, with the focus on ensuring Championship survival, but they still need to provide a satisfactory showing in the cup.

The loyal fans will likely make the trip despite the conditions, as they proved that they are still backing their club in the 0-0 draw with Birmingham City last time out.

They cannot be disrespected with a poor line-up that sees them knocked out of the cup easily, with another dismal defeat to Philippe Clement’s side.

Winning in the cup could be the perfect tonic for their season, and get the players ready to fight for the results that they need to stay in the second tier as the business end of the campaign approaches.
