Danny Imray labelled ‘worst signing of window’ after what happened in West Brom vs Norwich City

Danny Imray failed to impress West Brom fans once more in the FA Cup clash against Norwich City on Saturday.

The Baggies travelled to Carrow Road for a fourth-round FA Cup clash that showed more signs of issues under Eric Ramsay.

The competition won’t be seen as heavily important to Shilen Patel, given the Black Country Club’s position in the Championship, though; good performances are still required for trust.

However, Imray continues to give the West Brom supporters anything to shout about since coming to The Hawthorns on loan for the rest of the season from Crystal Palace.

West Brom fans say Danny Imray not at level needed after first-half showing vs Norwich

Imray had been preforming well in League One with Blackpool, proving to be a threat from attacking positions.

However, Ramsay seems to have gotten the best out of the right-wing back, despite him coming in at a time when depth in the position was deeply needed.

Norwich went into the break 1-0 up, and by then, Baggies fans had already seen enough of Imray.

West Brom supporters gathered to X after what they saw in the first 45 from the 22-year-old, with suggestions that he has been a transfer failure so far for Ramsay.

One West Brom fan said: “Imray. The absolute worst signing of the window. Horrific.”

Another Baggies fan said: “From what I’ve seen, Imray isn’t anywhere at the level required.”

It’s still early days for the versatile defender, and he did show improvements in the second half, coming close to grabbing an assist.

What happened to Josh Griffiths?

Josh Griffiths was substituted off at halftime by Ramsay, and it’s quite unusual to see that happen to a goalkeeper.

Some West Brom fans were asking why the Baggies boss did this, defending the number one in saying the goal they conceded in the first half had nothing to do with him.

There have yet to be any further updates on the matter, but the expectation is that Griffiths has suffered some kind of injury, though he was not in visible pain during the match.

Thankfully, West Brom did sign Max O’Leary, because with Griffiths now supposedly out for some time, the Albion could have been in a big spot of bother.

But O’Leary now has an added importance for the Baggies, and will need to come up with big performances from now until the end of the season.
