Eric Ramsay has perfect chance to secure first West Brom win as excellent stats emerge ahead of Norwich City clash

West Brom are looking to win at Carrow Road for the second time this season when they face Norwich in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Eric Ramsay is still looking for his first win in B71, but Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Birmingham City should give him the confidence he needs to end the poor run of form.

The Canaries beat West Brom 5-0 at The Hawthorns on 20 January to immediately pile pressure on Ramsay during his second game in charge.

The head coach will have to approach the match against Philippe Clement’s side in a cautious manner, as the Baggies are aiming to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2019-20.

Promising stats emerge ahead of Norwich vs West Brom

West Brom beat Norwich 1-0 at Carrow Road on 1 October in the Championship this season.

This is the last time the Baggies have won an away match in 90 minutes, with Josh Maja scoring the winning goal in the first half.

They are currently on a 13-match winless run away from home in the Championship, and they only knocked out Swansea in the FA Cup third round on penalties.

West Brom’s all-time head-to-head record vs Norwich

West Brom last won two away games against the same opponent in the 2007-08 campaign, winning twice at both Coventry and Peterborough.

The Canaries have lost three of their four FA Cup ties against West Brom, with a 2-1 victory at The Hawthorns in the fourth round in 2011-12 being their only success in recent years.

Having beaten Walsall 5-1 at Carrow Road in this season’s FA Cup third round, Norwich are aiming to win consecutive home games in the competition for the first time since January 2003.

West Brom predicted XI vs Norwich City

Regardless of the promising stats, it’s imperative that the Baggies don’t lose another game on their travels.

Could Eric Ramsay be on the verge of the sack if West Brom lose?

After putting a lot of faith in Ramsay, Shilen Patel needs him to secure his first victory at the seventh attempt.

Having done a brilliant job with MLS side Minnesota United, fans were excited to see him replace Ryan Mason.

However, three points from six league games is far from acceptable, and a loss in the FA Cup to Norwich would certainly dent morale.

A successful run in the competition would be a nice distraction for the players, and it would motivate them to perform even better in the league.

Ramsay is already under some pressure, and his life won’t be made easier with another abject performance.

Patel has rightly gained scrutiny for his decisions this season, and it’s not out of the question that Ramsay is in must-win territory to save his job.
