Eric Ramsay called out for West Brom comments after Norwich loss – ‘Is this bloke for real?’
Eric Ramsay was somehow satisfied despite West Brom losing 3-1 to Norwich in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday.
The Baggies haven’t made it to the fifth round of the competition since 2019-20, but they came up short once again at Carrow Road.
Paris Meghoma and Josh Maja traded goals before Benjamin Chrisene and Mohamed Toure scored twice in the last 10 minutes to secure the victory for Philippe Clement’s side.
West Brom lost 5-0 to the Canaries at The Hawthorns on 20 January, and although this was a much-improved display, it still wasn’t good enough.
Ramsay‘s comments haven’t gone down well with former West Brom employee Chris Lepkowski or the thousands of fans watching on.

Eric Ramsay slammed for post-match comments
It has now been 57 years since the Baggies played in a cup final, which showcases the decline of a club which is steeped in history.
The 1968 FA Cup win is West Brom’s last major trophy, and they have won the competition five times in their history.
That’s why it is so important for Baggies fans to see their side give a good account of themselves every year in the FA Cup.
| Norwich | Stats | West Brom |
| 54% | Possession | 46% |
| 21 | Shots | 7 |
| 2.57 | xG | 0.69 |
| 3 | Big chances | 1 |
| 55% | Ground duels won | 45% |
However, given their current winless run under Ramsay, all that was important was securing a win by any means possible, which they ultimately failed to achieve.
After the match, Ramsay said: “I’m disappointed with the result, certainly given how we came back into the game in the second half, but we had multiple objectives coming into this game.”
Lepkowski wasn’t pleased with these comments and felt that Ramsay had no reason to take any positives out of the match.
He said: “Satisfied? We got knocked out of the FA Cup for goodness sake. Is this bloke for real?”
Finding yourself knocked out of the biggest domestic competition is never positive, and Ramsay’s words will only be used against him as the pressure continues to mount.
Eric Ramsay faces a huge week that will define his West Brom career
While the fans will be bitterly disappointed, Ramsay needs to use the loss as fuel for the upcoming Championship games.
The Baggies now sit 20th in the table, with just two points separating them from the relegation zone.
West Brom haven’t won in the league since 29 December, but the next three games could define their season.
The Baggies host second-placed Coventry at The Hawthorns on 21 February, before welcoming Charlton to B71 three days later.
They end that week with a trip to relegation rivals Oxford United, and West Brom’s Championship status for next season will become much clearer after those three games.
That’s why the next seven days are crucial for Ramsay, who could find himself out of a job by the end of February if he doesn’t prepare his team well ahead of those matches.
