Darren Moore one to keep eye on in new West Brom manager update

West Brom could potentially look to appoint Darren Moore if they decide to go into the market for a new manager.

James Morrison has been handed interim charge of the Baggies after they sacked Eric Ramsay, but the ex-Port Vale head coach’s situation will be one to keep an eye on, according to the Daily Mail.

The former Jamaica international came in to manage the Albion for the final six games of the 2017-18 campaign, picking up eleven points, although they were still relegated.

Moore was subsequently handed the job permanently, and despite an impressive spell, he was sacked with 10 games to go as the Black Country outfit sat fourth in the Championship.

Shilen Patel in nightmare scenario after what’s happened at The Hawthorns

Bilkul Football have managed to bring financial stability to West Brom since completing their takeover in 2024, but their managerial decisions have backfired.

Carlos Corberan was already in the dugout before the American owners arrived, and the Spanish head coach was in line to secure a spot in the play-offs before joining Valencia in December.

Shilen Patel subsequently appointed Tony Mowbray, who was unable to bring the best out of the Baggies, and was eventually sacked after 17 games in charge.

Ryan Mason then arrived at The Hawthorns last summer as Bilkul looked to rebuild the Albion under the former Tottenham assistant manager.

There was doubt around the 34-year-old’s lack of experience as a first-team boss, and it came true, with Ramsay suffering a similar fate in B71.

West Brom fans can point to one moment that started Championship downfall

Alex Palmer’s sale to Ipswich Town could possibly be the most pivotal moment in West Brom’s recent history.

The 29-year-old had established himself as the number one goalkeeper at The Hawthorns, making his exit all the more surprising midway through last season.

Josh Griffiths, Joe Wildsmith and Max O’Leary have all tried and failed to convince fans in B71 that they’re worthy of playing for the Baggies.

Andrew Nestor and Patel went on to sanction the departures of Tom Fellows and Torbjorn Heggem last summer, and it isn’t surprising to see the Albion in the situation they’re in after failing to replace their best players.
