James Morrison given quick West Brom job ultimatum in new manager latest
James Morrison could land himself the West Brom job this weekend, following the recent sacking of Eric Ramsay.
That is according to the Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse, who has been providing the latest at The Hawthorns as the relegation fight continues.
Morrison has taken over on an interim basis at the Baggies before, where he has gone unbeaten across the three matches he was in charge for over his previous two caretaker spells.
Now, with Oxford United looming on Saturday, he is preparing the Midlands club for a fourth time, hoping to keep them above the relegation zone.

What must James Morrison do to get the West Brom job?
Morrison appears to be a leading candidate to take over on a longer basis at West Brom, and according to Collomosse, he will be in “pole position” to do so if one thing happens against Oxford.
The former Baggies midfielder, turned coach, could end up managing the B71 club for the rest of the season if he can secure all three points against the U’s.
This Saturday’s game is essentially an audition for Morrison set up by Shilen Patel.
It is not said whether or not Morrison could take the gig past this season, but if performances and results drastically improve, you would suspect he would be under consideration there as well.

Shilen Patel would be taking an unnecessary risk on Morrison – here’s why
Morrison is currently inexperienced as a head coach, and even if he manages three points against Oxford, it is not exactly the toughest audition.
The U’s look more certain for relegation than the Baggies, and they have won just six games all season.
Victory on Saturday would not be a true test of Morrison’s qualities, and making a decision based on one game against the second-worst side in the league is a major risk.
| Statistic | Total |
| Games managed | 3 |
| Wins | 2 |
| Draws | 1 |
| Goals scored | 7 |
| Goals conceded | 5 |
Bringing in a more proven coach, who has experience dealing with relegation, would be a decision that is more risk-averse.
Morrison could end up surprising us all, and we will certainly be hoping he does if Patel offers him the role until the end of the season.
