Remar McNeil destined for West Brom opportunity: This is when it could happen
Remar McNeil’s name is gathering plenty of attention after his form for West Brom’s Under-21s.
Neutrals often overlook it, but West Brom actually have one of the most successful academies outside of the big six in English football.
Players like Morgan Rogers, Tim Iroegbunam and Tom Fellows have all emerged from the Baggies academy in recent years, with plenty of other stars looking to follow in their footsteps.
And the latest player who could have a similar trajectory is McNeil, and it’s about time fans start realising the true potential he has.

Remar McNeil could be something special for West Brom
Despite being just 16 years old, McNeil is already a regular for West Brom’s Under-21 side, showcasing the level of maturity in his game.
However, he also possesses some immense qualities.
The teenager has three goals and two assists for the Baggies in just seven appearances this season, with four of those goal invovlements coming in the Premier League 2.
But his game goes far beyond his goals and assists, with his ability to drive forward with the ball and beat defenders being his biggest attribute.
McNeil has completed 62.5 per cent of his attempted dribbles this season, while also having created five chances in the Premier League 2, despite having played just 371 minutes of football.
McNeil scored twice in a 4-2 victory over Derby County on Monday night, with Eseosa Sule getting the other two.
When could Baggies fans see McNeil?
Given the immediate risk of relegation from the Championship, McNeil has next to no chance of making his senior debut for Albion this season.
It simply wouldn’t be the right environment for him to get to grips with senior football.
With that said, he will almost certainly be involved in their pre-season plans, regardless of which division they are in.
Should the Baggies remain in the Championship, first-team opportunities will still likely be limited, but if relegation does occur, McNeil may have a big part to play next season.
West Brom have reaped the rewards of developing their own youth talent, and given just how much potential he has, McNeil has to be next.
