Daryl Dike stinker, Danny Imray redeems himself – West Brom player ratings vs Sheffield United

West Brom played out a 1-1 draw with Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The Baggies travelled to South Yorkshire knowing that a win was needed after dropping into the relegation zone after Oxford United’s victory on Friday.

They couldn’t secure the three points they needed as George Campbell’s own goal put the Baggies a goal down.

James Morrison’s side did put in a shift and were totally deserving of the centre-back’s stunning equaliser to seal a 1-1 draw.

It was so nearly another frustrating day for the Hawthorns outfit in an improved performance, as West Brom News rates each player’s performance out of 10.

Danny Imray in all-action showing vs Sheffield United

The 22-year-old has had a difficult time since joining on loan from Crystal Palace, but it was much more like it away at Bramall Lane, and it has helped redeem his recent showings.

Imray featured at right-back and was able to bomb forward and also put in a positive shift at the back up against Gustavo Hamer.

He created one chance on the day while also chipping in with 11 defensive actions and six ground duel wins in an 86 per cent success rate.

Imray was also brought down to win one foul as he completed one dribble, four passes into the final third and 100 per cent of his attempted crosses.

That all summed up his performance in what was a much-improved showcase from the January signing.

Daryl Dike miles off it for West Brom

If it finally looked to have worked out for Imray against the Blades, it certainly hasn’t happened for Dike.

The American was poor once again for the Baggies, as his first touch raised serious concerns for the travelling outfit.

He racked up just 0.08 expected goals and maintained a shot accuracy of zero per cent, which obviously isn’t good enough.

His 17 per cent aerial duel win rate was enough for Morrison to bring him off and replace him with Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba, which was hardly a surprise.

The only shock may have been that the change came so late, as Dike had been stinking up Bramall Lane long before his exit on 78 minutes.
