Tim Sherwood shares new West Brom relegation verdict after what he saw at Bramall Lane
Tim Sherwood has given his thoughts on West Brom’s survival chances following their 1-1 draw with Sheffield United.
James Morrison’s side secured a point at Bramall Lane as a result of George Campbell’s second-half equaliser, after the defender put the hosts in the lead through an own goal.
The point leaves the Baggies sitting just outside the relegation zone, leading Leicester and Oxford by a point.
Ahead of West Brom’s clash with Southampton at The Hawthorns, Sherwood has given his thoughts on the ongoing survival battle.

Tim Sherwood outlines West Brom fighting chance
It has been a dismal year for Albion, with both Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay losing their job in the Black Country this term.
Former midfielder Morrison has been put in post until the end of the season, tasked with guiding the club to safety.
Speaking on Sky Sports News on Monday afternoon, Sherwood said: “They’ve got a fighting chance. The league’s not fantastic, albeit it’s very competitive.”
Sherwood himself covered the game for Sky Sports on Saturday, and believes that there were promising signs at Bramall Lane.
“They’re playing with some fight in coming back through a wonderful goal,” he added. “I’d give them a fighting chance. Morrison knows the club, gets a bit of luck.”
The Baggies host Sheffield United on Wednesday, before Hull make the trip to the Black Country on Saturday – two fixtures in which Morrison’s side must capitalise on the recent point.
West Brom have opportunity to build much-needed momentum
Alongside the point in South Yorkshire, Albion were given a big helping hand elsewhere, with Ipswich coming from a goal down to pick up a 1-1 draw with Leicester.
This followed Oxford’s win against Preston on Friday, that left both West Brom and the Foxes in the drop zone ahead of their respective matches on Saturday.

With two home clashes in the space of a week, Morrison’s side simply must begin to build momentum – no matter the difficulty of fixtures against two of the play-off chasers.
They were given a helping hand by Ipswich on Saturday, and they must look to build a gap to those around them as the games begin to run out.
