How to watch today’s West Brom vs Southampton clash: TV channel and kick-off time

West Brom face a tough test when they host Southampton at The Hawthorns on Wednesday.

The Baggies drew 1-1 with Sheffield United on Saturday to remain a point above the relegation zone, and the table doesn’t make for good reading.

Oxford United’s recent form means that West Brom fans are beginning to accept the fact that they could be watching League One football next season.

They haven’t won a league game in 2026, and James Morrison knows how tough it will be to end that winless run against Tonda Eckert’s Southampton.

Where to watch West Brom vs Southampton

Southampton come into the match having beaten Fulham 1-0 in an FA Cup fifth-round clash at Craven Cottage.

In the league, the Saints sit eighth in the table, and their hopes of reaching the playoffs are truly alive, but they have to get past the Baggies to prove that they are serious contenders.

The meeting between West Brom and Southampton will be shown live on the Sky Sports+ channel, with kick-off at 7:45pm.

Sky Sports will also upload highlights of the game via their social media.

When both sides met earlier in the season, Southampton raced into a 3-0 lead, and the Baggies were completely demolished in the first half.

However, they mounted a late comeback, and despite losing 3-2 at St Mary’s, they felt unlucky not to earn at least a point from that match.

West Brom fans are hoping for much better at The Hawthorns, and if they do fail to secure the victory, the risk of relegation will only increase.

How will James Morrison set up his West Brom side?

Last weekend’s draw against Sheffield United was a spirited display, which is something the Baggies didn’t produce under both Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay.

Morrison simply went back to basics, using a 4-4-2 formation to disrupt the Blades with added physicality in the middle of the park.

He’ll likely keep the same tactic for the remainder of the season, with two strikers up front ultimately keeping the opposition’s centre-backs busy.

While Daryl Dike and Krystian Bielik could drop out of the side, Morrison clearly has an established core group of players, and the likes of Aune Heggebo, Ollie Bostock and Isaac Price will all need to start firing.

Should the Baggies beat Southampton, then Morrison will certainly place more faith in the 4-4-2 formation.
