Tottenham fans all say same thing about ex-West Brom boss Ryan Mason after latest development

Tottenham Hotspur fans are calling for former West Bromwich Albion manager Ryan Mason to take over from Igor Tudor at the North London club.

Mason was sacked by Bilkul back at the beginning of January, as results at the Baggies had left them fighting at the bottom of the Championship.

Since then, little has changed at The Hawthorns, as the B71 outfit are still in danger of dropping down to League One after the appointment of Eric Ramsay backfired.

Former West Brom midfielder James Morrison has now taken over as head coach on an interim basis until the end of the season.

Now, Mason could follow in Morrison’s footsteps, as shouts from Spurs fans suggest they want him back at Hotspur Way.

What are Tottenham fans saying about Ryan Mason?

Tottenham find themselves in a similar situation to West Brom, albeit a division above the Baggies.

The Premier League side are just one point above the relegation zone, and results under Tudor have been far from ideal.

The Croatian’s future at Tottenham is now up in the air, with Mason seemingly a popular candidate among Spurs fans online.

Many believe that the former West Brom boss’s relationship with Tottenham would help them maintain their top-flight status.

One Tottenham fan said on X: “Simple question: would you take Ryan Mason instead of Tudor for the remainder? I for one would… He’s Tottenham to his core. He knows the players, and he will give his all. Is he a top manager? Not yet, but we don’t need that now. We need belief and a man that gets Tottenham.”

One supporter is now overwhelmingly confident about the idea of Mason taking over in N17 but still insists he may be one of the better options out there.

Speaking on X they said: “I would definitely be looking to make a change and bring in Ryan Mason. Is he going to keep us up? I’m not sure. But we stand a much better chance with someone who loves this club & can put their arms around these players. Sitting still is not an option. The dice must be rolled.”

After failing to impress at West Brom, Mason could very well find himself back in football quicker than expected and coaching at a much higher level.

However, Spurs fans may need to be wary, as Mason has already been a member of one club threatened by relegation this season.

Ryan Mason can prove himself despite West Brom stint

While Mason may have failed at West Brom, that is not to say that he cannot be a success at his former club until the end of the season.

There have been multiple cases of interim managers coming into a football club and turning things around. That is now the blueprint the Baggies themselves are trying to follow.

Additionally, Baggies fans will remember Roberto Di Matteo’s spell, where the Italian got them promoted to the Premier League in 2009-2010.

However, his time at the Hawthorns would end following a string of poor results, leaving them in the relegation battle during the 2010-2011 campaign.

A season later, though, he would win the Champions League and FA Cup double while interim manager of Chelsea.

So just because Mason may have faltered in B71, he could very well do much better at Tottenham.
