Everything West Brom fans now need to know about Mikey Johnston’s injury situation
Mikey Johnston has missed West Brom’s last two games through injury.
With the Baggies at risk of relegation to League One, the last thing they needed was Johnston to suffer an injury, given the importance he has held this season.
The Republic of Ireland international has nine assists for Albion this season, which is five more than any other player in the squad.
However, those fears came to fruition when Johnston suffered an injury in West Brom’s defeat to Oxford at the end of February.

What is Mikey Johnston’s injury, and how long is he expected to be out?
West Brom confirmed soon after the defeat to Oxford United that Johnston had suffered a stress fracture to his ankle.
The winger was due to see a specialist last week, but a clear prognosis has yet to be revealed as to when he could return.
However, these types of injuries can take anywhere from six to 12 weeks to heal, meaning he is unlikely to be back in action for another five weeks at the very least.
Should that be the case, which is certainly the best-case scenario, the winger would return for the last four games of the season, with the final game scheduled for 2 May.
Should the injury prove to be any worse than that, then it could rule him out for signficantly longer.
With that said, it’s likely that he has already played his final game of the season for the Baggies, and potentially forever.
Will we ever see Johnston again for West Brom?
There’s a strong case to be made that we won’t.
Johnston was heavily linked with an exit from The Hawthorns in January, though the 26-year-old opted to stay and help the cause at West Brom.
He has certainly played his part in their fight against the drop, but he has been let down massively by those around him who have failed to pull their weight in the Championship.
In terms of his contract situation, he still has two years left on his deal at the end of the current campaign, but if the Baggies are to be relegated, it feels almost guaranteed that he won’t be sticking around to see that out.
