James Morrison axes Isaac Price – West Brom predicted XI vs Hull City
James Morrison could drop Isaac Price from the starting lineup for West Brom’s Championship clash against Hull City at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
West Brom drew 1-1 against Southampton on Wednesday, with Cyle Larin’s last-minute equaliser breaking hearts at The Hawthorns.
Despite seeing that first win in 2026 slip out of their hands, the Baggies played very well, and Morrison has definitely overseen a change in mentality among the players.
However, West Brom are now 23rd in the table, and with just nine games to go, relegation to League One is looking increasingly likely.
Morrison won’t make many changes to his team for the match against Hull, but Price could definitely find himself on the bench.

Isaac Price replaced for Ollie Bostock in only change
Despite the impressive start to his Baggies career, Price has been criticised numerous times for his poor performances this season.
He is starting to fade away for the Baggies, and he was once again ineffective against the Saints in B71.
As a result, Ollie Bostock could replace him on the left wing, and the youngster would offer the Baggies a more direct threat in the final third.
| Stat | Price |

| Assists | 2 |
Morrison brought Bostock on for Mikey Johnston against Oxford United in February, and it’s safe to say he made an impact, scoring a long-range strike to drag the Baggies back into the match.
He was impressive on the left wing and sent out a message to his head coach that he should be one of the first names on the team sheet, which then resulted in his first senior start away to Sheffield United a week later.
Although he was dropped for Wednesday’s game, he fits perfectly in Morrison’s system, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was reinstated into the side.

The rest of the team should remain unchanged, and in Ousmane Diakite’s case, that is most definitely deserved.
Why Ousmane Diakite has to start for West Brom
The Mali international has been a bright spark for the Baggies, adding an abundance of energy to the midfield.
Alongside Jayson Molumby, Diakite is at his best, and his physical prowess is a huge bonus for West Brom.
Alex Mowatt clearly hasn’t performed to the level required, with Morrison finally acting on that by leaving him on the bench in the last two games.
Diakite adds balance to the spine of team, and he could certainly unnerve Hull with his athleticism in the middle of the park.
That’s why Morrison can’t afford to rotate him out of the starting lineup.
