West Brom set to suffer 120-year first as supercomputer predicts Championship clash vs Bristol City
West Brom are back in action when they travel to face Bristol City in Saturday’s Championship clash.
The Baggies emphatically beat Hull City 3-0 in B71 last time out, ending their incredible winless run in the league of 13 games.
With just eight games to go, James Morrison‘s side are aware of the dangers of relegation, and the performance against the Tigers has to be the benchmark from now on.
Up next for them is an away trip to Gerhard Struber’s Bristol City, who are currently sitting 14th.
Morrison has galvanised the dressing room, and although he’ll feel confident that his side can secure all three points against the Robins, a supercomputer has predicted differently.

Bristol City predicted as heavy favourites vs West Brom
Although Bristol City started the season strongly, they have faded away and remain winless in their last five matches.
While Struber isn’t under pressure, a loss to the Baggies would put an end to their slim playoff hopes, which would be a disaster for the team that finished sixth last campaign.
However, according to Opta‘s supercomputer, West Brom are in for another miserable afternoon on the road.
- Bristol City have been given a 50 per cent chance of claiming all three points
- West Brom have a 24.7 per cent chance of securing their first away league win this year
- A draw has been given a 25.3 per cent probability of occurring
The last time the Robins did the double over the Baggies was in the 1905-06 season.
Given the fact that they beat West Brom 2-1 at The Hawthorns, Bristol City are in a brilliant position to match this historic feat.
When looking at their head-to-head record, the Black Country outfit have beaten Bristol City 26 times, lost 19 matches and drawn 17 meetings.

It’s traditionally been a high-scoring affair when these two sides meet, with nine of the last 14 meetings featuring three or more goals.
How will Bristol City play vs West Brom?
The Robins play in a 3-5-2 formation, with Sinclair Armstrong and Emil Riis Jakobsen playing up front together.
Wing-backs Mark Sykes and Rob McCrorie have registered 13 goal involvements between them, while Scott Twine and Adam Randell provide a lot of attacking threat in midfield.
Struber is known for his counter-attacking style of play, and their average possession of 49.2 per cent per game is 15th among other Championship sides.
The Baggies definitely have the quality to break Hull down, but they’ll need to be wary of their deliveries into the box.
If they aren’t, then it could be another disappointing afternoon for West Brom.
