Danny Imray contract situation: Expiry date, Crystal Palace exit stance, and can West Brom sign him
Danny Imray has proven to be an excellent January signing for West Bromwich Albion.
There were initial reservations surrounding the 22-year-old when he moved to The Hawthorns from Crystal Palace.
Having spent the first half of the season with Blackpool in League One, that hardly came as a surprise in the Black Country.
The right-back has gone on to prove many people wrong in B71 after a string of excellent performances under James Morrison.
West Brom may want to sign Imray permanently as we now assess what we know about his contract situation at Crystal Palace.

What is Danny Imray’s contract situation at Crystal Palace?
The Englishman has typically featured lower down the English football pyramid than the second tier throughout his career.
That hasn’t shown at The Hawthorns, with his performances helping to turn things around and go on an unbeaten run in recent weeks.
| Stat (Championship 25-26) | Danny Imray |
| Appearances | 13 |
| Minutes played | 846 |
| Chances created | 7 |
| Duels won | 50 |
| Defensive contributions | 58 |
His energy down the right flank has massively benefited the Baggies when forging attacks, with his pace helping to cause plenty of problems.
That will certainly catch the eye of the staff at Selhurst Park, who will have to assess the defender’s contract as reports suggest it will expire at the end of the campaign.

After signing for Palace in 2021, his initial deal looks set to come to an end in the coming months on wages of a reported £1,000 per week and a yearly salary of £52,000.
Imray may be a transfer priority for West Brom, especially with his contract situation seemingly hanging in the balance.
Can West Brom sign Imray permanently?
If he doesn’t sign a new deal imminently with Crystal Palace, the simple answer may well be yes.
Imray may have been good for the Baggies, but that may not translate well onto the Premier League stage in Croydon.
It will be interesting to see if he will pen a new deal at Selhurst Park, but if he doesn’t, it feels likely that West Brom will force themselves to the front of the queue.

The defender has been excellent recently, and signing him permanently would be a shrewd and wise piece of business in B71.
It will be interesting to see if that can be possible, but it is likely to hinge on which division West Brom begin next season in.
