West Brom: Josh Maja and Daryl Dike react as Thomas-Asante revels in Premier League promotion
West Bromwich Albion stars past and present have reacted to a post celebrating Brandon Thomas-Asante’s Premier League promotion with Coventry City.
Thomas-Asante spent two seasons at West Brom after signing from Salford City in 2022, before joining Coventry just under two years ago.
The forward had undoubted pedigree during his time at The Hawthorns, with many West Brom fans upset that the 27-year-old was allowed to leave at all.
From his perspective, the move has paid off after he starred in Coventry’s Championship title-winning campaign this season.
As West Brom prepare for another Championship season, former Baggies teammates, Daryl Dike and Josh Maja, were among the many well-wishers towards Thomas-Asante on social media.

Brandon Thomas-Asante heads for Premier League
Thomas-Asante has been a vital component to Coventry’s success this season.
He has bagged 12 goals and notched four assists in 32 appearances in all competitions, with the attacker handed 20 starts along the way.
| Brandon Thomas-Asante | |
| West Brom (2022-24) | 21 goals, two assists, 78 games |
| Coventry (2024-present) | 18 goals, seven assists, 75 games |
Interestingly, he has notched similar stats to the ones he posted at West Brom, who sold him on for around £3million after signing him for £300,000.
That helped ease their PSR fears but they certainly could have done with a player of his quality this season.
Earlier in the 2025-26 campaign, Thomas-Asante admitted West Brom holds a very dear spot in his heart. And it seems some of his old teammates still hold him in high regard after his latest achievements.
Thomas-Asante shared a Ghanaian Instagram post of him celebrating Coventry’s league title, something Dike and Maja liked, and former West Brom man Okay Yokuslu put a clapping emoji and a fire one.
The jump up from the Championship to the Premier League can be brutal. It remains to be seen if the ex-West Brom man can handle that.
West Brom on the up under James Morrison
After West Brom thumped Watford 3-0, they all but secured their Championship promotion status.
While they are still waiting to find out if they will get hit with a points deduction for an alleged financial breach, James Morrison‘s side are doing all they can to put them out of reach.
The Baggies are eight points above the relegation zone with two games to go after winning three of their last six league matches.
They are yet to face promotion-chasing Ipswich Town and already relegated Sheffield Wednesday. If they win one of those, their safety is likely to be assured.
