West Brom chief speaks out on PSR breach as concern flagged to EFL
West Bromwich Albion executive director Mark Miles has provided some further clarity on the club’s recent PSR breach.
The Baggies were docked two points at the end of April for financial breaches for the three-season cycle up to 2024-25.
Albion were charged for exceeding the £39million loss limit by around £1.97m, which is just £300,000 off the threshold to trigger a four-point punishment.
West Brom decided against appealing the decision as they avoided relegation from the Championship by four points.
As the fallout continues from the controversial financial ruling, Albion chief Miles spoke out at the latest Fan Advisory Board (FAB) meeting.

West Brom right to flag wider concern to EFL
Had James Morrison not worked wonders in keeping West Brom up with a superb unbeaten run, this story would be far bigger than it turned out to be.
Being deducted two points is an embarrassment, although a closer look at the reasons behind it turn the mirror back on the EFL themselves.
| West Brom 2025-26 | Position | Points | GD |
| With points deduction | 21 | 51 | -10 |
| Without points deduction | 19 | 53 | -10 |
Albion pointed out at the time that ‘in-kind payments’ to club charity The Albion Foundation are not included in PSR calculations.
The Baggies do not want teams to be penalised in future for spending on good causes, which this very much is.
Speaking at the latest FAB meeting on 14 May, with the summary being shared by Albion on Thursday, Miles was asked to explain the breach and any further steps taken.
Miles confirmed what had previously been reported and added that West Brom have flagged a broader concern to the EFL that the rules in place right now deter owners from buying clubs in trouble.

That is due to inherited debt counting against them, which was the case for Bilkul.
Miles added that an appeal was deemed unnecessary following the conclusion of the season as it would not make a material impact on matters, even if the Baggies could have moved a couple of places higher.
West Brom season ticket update emerges
West Brom’s finances were of course the top topic on the agenda, but plenty of other issues were addressed.
While the 2025-26 season was a disappointing one, West Brom fans are already getting excited for next season.

The Baggies froze adult season ticket prices at early bird level four months ago when the Black Country club were particularly struggling.
Director of communications Ian Skidmore revealed that the levels of sales to date are in line with expectations at this time of the year.
That means supporters have not been put off purchasing their season tickets, and you would imagine thousands more will commit as the weeks go on.
