How much DPD could pay West Brom as new sponsor submits local application
West Brom have announced DPD as a new sponsor.
The Baggies have continued their partnership with Ideal Boilers and they will remain as the front-of-shirt sponsor.
The upcoming campaign represents their record-breaking ninth at The Hawthorns.
They have now been joined by the courier and logistical company ready for the upcoming season.
The new deal will see DPD adorn the back of the men's, women's and academy teams in B71 moving forward.
It has been a busy period for the major international parcel delivery service as we assess how their deal with West Brom could work.
What deal have West Brom agreed with DPD?
West Brom News covered the announcement of DPD as a new sponsor at The Hawthorns earlier on Tuesday.
That came after an announcement from the Albion which confirmed a multi-year partnership.
They describe that as a way to "bring together two of the Black Country’s most recognisable names".
The deal will see the Smethwick-founded company become Official Delivery Partner and Back of Shirt Partner for what looks set to be multiple seasons.
It hasn't been reported how much they could pay as part of this deal, but typically back-of-shirt sponsor deals will bring in 10-20 per cent of the front-of-shirt deal.
A report from Sports Pro previously suggested that Ideal Boilers are paying £3million-per-year in B71.
That could see DPD's deal be worth between £300,000 and £600,000 for each season at The Hawthorns.
That fee would be great for the Baggies, especially after the departure of Mega Riches at the end of the campaign.
It all seems positive for West Brom and looks set to coincide with local change for DPD.
Why have DPD applied for new licence?
The parcel delivery service are certainly well-recognised and are one of the biggest companies to ever come out of the Black Country.
They are still based in the local area, but are looking to change licences to alter their operations.
That comes after the Express and Star reported earlier in July that DPD bosses have applied to change its operators' licence.
Their base on Roebuck Lane, Smethwick wants the change to add an operating centre.
That will see 50 trailers be kept at Auto Mobile Yard at premises in Oldbury moving forward.
They have had to do so to make local landowners aware that they could be impacted, with that included in their notice.
That is all going on in the local area while they have also sealed a deal with West Brom in a busy period for DPD.
