West Brom are one of the most successful football clubs in the history of the English game.

From being founding members of the Football League in 1888, to FA Cup victories and more, Albion’s famous blue and white stripes are not only well known in the West Midlands, but across all of Great Britain.

West Brom have won nine major trophies in their history, making them joint-15th in the all-time honours list in English football.

Here, West Brom News runs you through all the silverware lifted by the Baggies down the years.

West Brom league trophies

Despite being one of the oldest clubs in the country and being founding members of the Football League, West Brom have won the top-tier title on just one occasion.

However, they have enjoyed success in other leagues, with their most recent success coming under Tony Mowbray’s leadership in 2007/08.

West Brom FA Cup trophies

Only nine teams have won more FA Cup titles than West Brom, who’ve won half of their 10 appearances in the final throughout history.

Albion’s last final appearance came almost 60 years ago, but they came close to appearing there again in 2008 when they controversially lost to eventual winners Portsmouth in the semi-finals at the new Wembley.

1968 FA Cup Final, West Brom v Everton

Alan Ashman wouldn’t have realised at the time that no West Brom manager would win a major piece of silverware after him when his side beat Everton at Wembley on 18 May 1968.

West Brom and their Merseyside opponents couldn’t be separated after 90 minutes, but just three minutes into extra time, Jeff Astle scored arguably the most iconic goal in Albion’s history when he achieved the feat of scoring in every round of the competition that season.

Doug Fraser intercepted a loose ball on the halfway line, passing it to Astle, who then dodged one challenge before attempting a long-range effort with his right foot from outside the box.

However, Everton’s defence failed to clear their lines, allowing the ball to bounce back to Astle, who took the chance to whack a half-volley with his left foot into the top corner of Gordon West’s goal.

Astle’s celebration – with his arms aloft – now features on the famous Astle Gates at The Hawthorns.

West Brom’s other trophies

Albion have also won a number of other competitions, including the Football League Cup and the FA Charity Shield.

Their most recent success came in 2021/22 when West Brom’s Under-21s beat Wolves 5-4 on penalties at The Hawthorns to win the Premier League Cup.
