Luton Town could be the club to finally take Caleb Taylor away from West Brom on a permanent exit.

The 21-year-old defensive talent was recalled early from his season-long loan from Wycombe Wanderers, being thrown straight into the Baggies lineup for the 5-1 defeat to Bournemouth.

In dramatic style, Taylor welcomed himself back to the supporters by opening the scoring against the Premier League outfit with a fine header, only to see five goals shipped past him on 11 January.

Before the FA Cup clash, the centre-back had only made 10 first-team appearances for Albion since graduating from the academy, being loaned out to Cheltenham Town, Bolton Wanderers and Wycombe Wanderers.

In his most recent loan spell, going to League One side Wycombe for the first half of the 2024/25 campaign, current manager Matt Bloomfield was incredibly impressed with the youngster.

Bloomfield even went as far as to say the Chairboys would welcome him back on another loan, with the defender not allowed to play for another team this season [Wanderers TV].

It is clear that the 40-year-old was a huge fan of Taylor during his spell at Adams Park.

However, the manager is now close to being appointed at Luton Town as Rob Edwards' successor, which may suggest a possible permanent move to Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters are currently fighting to survive in the Championship, sitting just two points above the dropzone, and are in desperate need of a defensive shakeup.

Only Plymouth Argyle have conceded more goals in the division this term, and while Taylor is relatively inexperienced at this level, Bloomfield put his trust in the defender and was repaid at Wycombe.

It is unclear what the Baggies have planned for their youngster's future, having been recalled from Adams Park, but Luton could be his next destination, either permanently this month or on loan in the summer.
