Chris Mepham is yet to finish his season after he continued his return to action away from West Brom.

The Welsh international missed the last 15 matches of the Championship campaign, and that also affected his international availability.

Mepham was absent as the Dragons missed out on a place in the World Cup, losing to Bosnia in the playoff semi-final match in March.

The West Brom man returned to action for his country's 1-1 draw with Ghana on 2 June and the 2-1 loss to Romania on Saturday.

He has revealed his joy at being back in action, taking to social media after the contest with the Tricolours.

What was Chris Mepham's message and Daryl Dike's reaction?

Mepham shared his relief at being back after spending significant time on the sidelines with both the Baggies and his country.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram on 7 April, saying: "So good to be back out there."

The post was liked by Daryl Dike, Callum Styles and his Dragons teammate Ollie Bostock.

West Brom: Chris Mepham may force James Morrison into rethink after subtle exit hint

The American is clearly still keeping an eye on his former teammates, with his contract being up and a new deal not taken.

What is next for West Brom and Mepham?

Mepham was a key man for Albion when he was fit, featuring 25 times in the second tier and forming a solid partnership with Nat Phillips.

James Morrison needs him to stay fit next season, if his side are to mount a genuine promotion challenge next season after a dismal campaign this time around, where they narrowly avoided the drop.

When he was on the pitch, he was solid, boasting a 58 per cent ground duel success rate and a 67 per cent aerial duel success rate.

His experience would be vital for the B71 club, so they need him to be available and not sidelined for the majority of the season, like he was in the 2025-26 one.

If he spends another campaign missing out a lot with injury, then his future must come under question, as he can not be relied upon long-term if that is the case.

Only time will tell, for now, it is good to see him back in action and to see Dike still keeping up with Albion.
