West Ham's Declan Rice has hailed Grady Diangana after the West Brom star scored his first Premier League goal against Everton on Saturday.

Diangana, 22, joined Albion earlier this month in a club-record deal worth £18million, angering Hammers fans and players.

After an anonymous display against Leicester on the opening day, Diangana was back to his best at Goodison Park this weekend by scoring a stunning solo goal which saw him pick up the ball well in his own half before slotting the ball past Jordan Pickford from the edge of the area.

Diangana's strike opened the scoring for the Baggies but the Black Country club imploded and went on to lose 5-2.

After the match, the former West Ham winger took to his personal Instagram account to say it was a "disappointing result" for West Brom.

West Ham and England midfielder Rice was among the fellow footballers to reply in the comments, with him simply saying: "Amazing, bro."

Rekeem Harper, Kyle Edwards, Eddie Nketiah, Eberechi Eze and James Justin were also among the players who replied to Diangana's post.

West Brom scored two superb goals against Everton and neither Diangana or Matheus Pereira deserved to be on the losing side.

Both did extremely well, which shows there were some good positives to take away from the defeat at Goodison Park.

But those positives are so hard to not ignore when the defence and the actions of Kieran Gibbs were so ridiculous.

If Gibbs didn't get sent off, it could've been a completely different game and if Slaven Bilic didn't lose his head and get shown a red card at half-time, maybe the players' heads wouldn't have dropped in the way they did.

It was a disappointing day on Merseyside but let's hope the players can take some pride from their first-half display and build on that.
