Isaac Price will have left West Bromwich Albion boss James Morrison excited for the new campaign after his showing with Northern Ireland.

The 22-year-old had an up and down campaign with the Baggies as they narrowly escaped relegation.

Morrison will be counting on him to step up for the new season, and ensure that his side are nowhere near the drop zone this time around.

Price gave the boss a hint of what he can expect in his nation's 1-0 win over Guinea on 4 June.

West Brom fans and their manager will surely be wanting to see more of the young star after the display.

How did Price perform in Northern Ireland win?

Price was back to his best for his nation, and hopefully can bring that form back to B71.

The Baggies star completed 89 per cent of his passes, and made two chances for his teammates, per Fotmob.

He bagged an assist for Tom Atcheson's winning goal, while also recording a 75 per cent success rate from his long pass attempts.

The Hawthorns ace tried to contribute defensively, making two clearances and six recoveries in the contest.

One area where he underwhelmed was in duels, winning just two of seven on the ground for a 29 per cent success rate, and one of two in the air, for a 50 per cent ratio.

Why West Brom fans may still be cautious

Price struggled last season after a brilliant start to the campaign, but still managed nine goals and two assists in the league.

Albion supporters will be encouraged that he can start the campaign in a similar fashion after his latest showing on the international stage.

He will not be playing at the World Cup, as Northern Ireland lost in their playoff semi-final to Italy.

That should give him time to rest and also to refine his game with specialised training before the 2026-27 campaign starts.

Morrison will hope that Price can revert to his early season form from the last season and drive his side towards the top-half of the table.

However, fans will be rightfully cautious that he will not.
