West Brom have been used once again after Krystian Bielik's punishment was confirmed by the FA.

The ex-Baggies defender was charged after grabbing a young Portsmouth fan by the neck while in action for Cardiff.

Despite the severe nature of the incident, Bielik has only been banned for two matches, along with a £10,000 fine.

West Brom fans have used that to compare it to the ban handed down to Aune Heggebo earlier in the season.

The Albion striker was also banned for two matches for successfully decieving a match official after accidentally scoring with his hand in the win over Norwich.

Jim White has compared the two incidents that have somehow received the same punishments.

What has been the reaction to Bielik punishment?

Simon Jordan questioned the decision to essentially take away wages, saying it doesn't happen in other professions.

There appeared to be a lack of understanding for how serious it actually was for Bielik to physically grab a fan, who was a child.

Speaking live on talkSPORT on Wednesday, White was left comparing the two incidents that have happened this season.

"Optics - The West Brom forward, Aune Heggebo, given a two-match ban for successful deception of a match official when scoring a goal with his hand," he said.

"And now, Bielik, getting a two-match ban, but having had a brush with a young fan.

"At the end of the day, the FA are looking at the two situations and punishing both, roughly in the same territory."

Danny Murphy even went as far as to agree that both punishments were correct in these incidents.

Aune Heggebo punishment was disgrace

There was no definitive proof that the striker did this deliberately.

We have seen countless numbers of examples of players handling the ball, whether accidental or not, and it leading to goals.

In almost every single case, none of them specifically told the officials.

Are West Brom fans being too harsh on Aune Heggebo after loss vs Wolves?

The ball was fired at Heggebo at tremendous speed, and there was no chance of him getting out of the way, whether it's his hand or any other body part.

Just because the officials didn't spot it, and the slow-motion replays did, doesn't mean he should have been punished.

Compare that to Bielik, who literally grabbed a fan aggressively, and the same punishment being dished out is a joke.

West Brom have been hard done by yet again, and sooner or later, questions need to be asked.
