Julian Warren has been left gushing over Jed Wallace live on Sky Sports after the 2-0 West Brom victory over Rotherham on 12 December.

Grady Diangana and Wallace grabbed the two goals at the New York Stadium, ensuring the Baggies remain on track for promotion.

However, it was the latter whose goal stole the headlines as his free kick found the back of the net.

West Brom

Warren said on Sky Sports News, 12 Dec, 09:42pm: "Jed Wallace then scored an excellent free kick from the end of the box to make sure of the three points for West Brom.

"That was a much-needed win for them after back-to-back defeats which just firmed up their place in the playoff places and another for West Brom as well."

Great results

The match was relatively quiet in the first half, but Diangana's deflected effort in the 52nd minute broke the deadlock, sparking celebrations among the travelling supporters.

Rotherham had limited opportunities and the Baggies comfortably controlled the game with Wallace's brilliant free-kick late in the match securing the triumph in style.

This victory gained added significance as fellow playoff contenders Leeds United suffered a setback, losing to Sunderland.

West Brom

The dropped points by Leeds provided West Brom with an opportunity to capitalise on their promotion aspirations.

The Baggies' win not only reinforced their playoff position but also widened the gap from trailing competitors, making it a great result in the context of the promotion race.

Carlos Corberan is undoubtedly working wonders at the club and this result and performance surely proved it.
