Mikey Johnston among three West Brom players whose stock has lowered this season

West Bromwich Albion can be content with how their season is going so far.

That, of course, is caveated by the disappointment of the 1-0 derby loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers before the international break.

Fer Lopez scored the only goal of the game at Molineux after an error from Nat Phillips.

But, by and large, Albion have done well this season, and sit fifth in the table through eight games, just three points back of leaders Swansea City.

While there have been some really strong performers so far, some will be itching to contribute more after the international break.

Here, West Brom News looks at three players whose stock has lowered since the start of the season for James Morrison's side.

Mikey Johnston

You really do have to feel for Mikey Johnston.

He was one of the better players in a dismal campaign last term, before an ankle injury curtailed his season.

Johnston was working his way back to full fitness before suffering a setback in his comeback for Albion.

Consequently, his only appearance thus far was off the bench in the 4-1 Carabao Cup triumph over Rotherham United in August.

Johnston will be desperate to get back on the pitch and just give everyone a timely reminder of his undoubted quality.

Brayann Pereira

It probably is a little harsh to include a summer signing who has only made one appearance thus far in this list.

And it is certainly not fair to pile into a 23-year-old who is still adapting to a new league, and a new country.

That being said, Pereira will acknowledge his one appearance against Derby County was a bit of a horror show.

Pereira had already looked shaky by the time he was sent off for a second bookable offence for hacking down Mohammed Fuseini in the 34th minute.

Hopefully some time on the training ground, and the opportunity to have settled a little during the break will help him when domestic action resumes.

Felix Horn Mhyre

Another player who is still adjusting to English football is Felix Horn Mhyre.

There was understandable enthusiasm around the arrival of Mhyre, who is a Norway international, in a £3million deal.

Mhyre's versatility is certainly a big plus for Morrison, but thus far he has not quite been able to fully display his talent.

He certainly hasn't been terrible, but the 27-year-old will be keen to show a bit more consistency after the international break.
