Newcastle United are reportedly willing to let their first choice keeper and West Brom target Karl Darlow this summer.

According to the Northern Echo, the Magpies are confident of signing Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, which opens the door for Darlow to leave.

Darlow has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, moving the other way from Henderson in order to become David de Gea's understudy.

West Brom

Worth signing?

Obviously, West Brom would not be able to compete with the riches of Man United as they're one of the wealthiest clubs in the world.

However, what they can offer Darlow is the chance to be the undisputed number one and play every league game of the season.

The Englishman is 31 and could still get called up by the Three Lions before his career ends in the next five to seven years.

That's not going to happen if he's a second choice keeper and only playing in the cup games.

There's a good chance that the Baggies get promoted in the summer and Darlow will then be back to the Premier League and the eyeballs will be back on him.

With Henderson appearing close to joining Newcastle, it makes a world of sense for the West Brom hierarchy to make quick moves and sign the 31-year-old.
