Nicola Richards MP rages at 'Disgraceful' West Brom fan development
Nicola Richards MP has raged after West Brom confirmed that they assisted police after a hateful social media post including Bradley Lowery from a fan.
The Baggies were made aware of the post after the 2-1 defeat against Sunderland on Saturday 9 December, offering their apologies in a new announcement.
Richards labelled the post as "disgraceful" from the fan, insisting that it must be stamped out of the game, with far too many examples in the modern day.
She wrote on X: "This is disgraceful from a so-called 'fan'.
"I'm glad that West Brom are taking this seriously and helping the police with their enquiries.
"We must stamp out this vile rhetoric in football and I thank Action4Albion for so quickly condemning this behaviour on behalf of fans."
Shocking.
No matter what you think of Richards or others in that space, the message has to be the same, things like this are not welcome anywhere, never mind just in football.
How someone thought it was fine to type up the post, and then go on to post it, is beyond us, and they have to be punished for that decision.
West Brom moved quickly to take action and that has to be commended, but it is sad in this day and age that they have even had to do that.
It has been confirmed that the fan has been suspended but that is just the start with the message needing to be spread far and wide to every fan of every club.
Football will return on Tuesday 12 December against Rotherham, and that fan will be nowhere to be seen thankfully as the Baggies hope to return to winning ways.
In other West Brom news, Adrian Goldberg says £6million could be enough for one player to depart The Hawthorns in January.
