Nigel Quashie was impressed by the shape of the West Brom players in and out of possession in their victory over Coventry City on Friday (1 March).

The former Baggies midfielder tweeted on Friday that Albion moved the ball well and that teams struggle to play against a high tempo with the "quality" in Carlos Corberan's squad.

But he said the Albion players must not take their foot off the gas like they did in the second half against the Sky Blues, adding that they need to keep their current momentum going and racking up points to get in the playoffs after their 2-1 victory at The Hawthorns.

West Brom well-set for playoffs after Coventry victory

It was a massive win for West Brom against Coventry as their excellent performance in the first half proved to be enough to claim all three points.

Another superb goal from Celtic loanee Mikey Johnston alongside a smart finish from Grady Diangana put them 2-0 ahead at the break before a Haji Wright penalty ensured it was a tense finish.

But Albion did well to fight off some late pressure as they took another big step towards reaching the playoff places this season.

Corberan will be keen to ensure his side keep their focus and maintain their performance levels throughout the entirety of games, though, after letting the Sky Blues back in after the break.

But the most important thing is that it was another positive night for the Baggies on the back of an incredible week following the news that Shilen Patel has completed his takeover at The Hawthorns.
