West Brom were beaten 3-0 by Millwall as they suffered another setback in the Championship.

The Baggies secured a 1-0 win on the road at Norwich City in midweek, but it was a totally different story at the weekend as they slipped to defeat with a whimper in Bermondsey.

Samuel Iling-Junior was left out of the West Brom starting XI for the clash with the Lions, and it was a decision that they were made to rue as goals from Jake Cooper, Femi Azeez and Zak Sturge condemned them to defeat.

On the whole, it was a frustrating 90 minutes for Ryan Mason's men, and good performances were few and far between.

Toby Collyer brilliant for West Brom vs Millwall

West Brom fans have been desperate to see Toby Collyer get a start in recent weeks, and he showed everyone what the Baggies have been missing with his display at The Den.

The Manchester United loanee is extremely highly rated at his parent club and it was clear to see why on Saturday afternoon.

  • No one won more tackles than Collyer's four during the game
  • The youngster completed 89 per cent of his passes in the middle of the park
  • Collyer also won 66 per cent of his duels

The 21-year-old was impressive in the middle of the park, as he combined a silky range of passing with a combative nature that saw him win a joint-game-high four tackles throughout the afternoon.

Collyer was full of energy and made himself constantly available to receive the ball, something that Albion have been lacking in the midfield at times.

It was a brilliant display from the youngster on his full debut, who was the shining light for his team, and he was worthy of an eye-catching 7/10 rating.

Aune Heggebo didn't offer enough for Albion

Aune Heggebo has been a key player for West Brom in the early stages of the season, but he simply didn't do enough for his team in the defeat to Millwall.

The Norwegian was always likely to start the game, as Mason continues to nurse Josh Maja back to full fitness, but he would surely have expected more from the 24-year-old.

Heggebo struggled to provide an outlet for his side, as he lost the majority of his duels, and struggled to hold the ball up and link the play.

The frontman didn't gamble enough inside the box, despite the fact that some enticing balls were whipped across the face of goal throughout the 90 minutes.

It was a frustrating afternoon for the frontman, who turned in woeful a 3/10 display.
