Tony Brown blasts 'erratic' Callum Styles after West Brom incident v QPR
Callum Styles was very fortunate not to have received a yellow card after a foul in the first half of West Brom's clash with QPR.
West Brom moved one step closer to securing their place in the playoffs with a well-fought 1-0 victory at home to QPR on Saturday afternoon, despite going down to ten men after Darnell Furlong was sent off.
Tony Mowbray's side had to stay patient before being awarded a penalty in the dying stages of the first half, which was dispatched cooly by Adam Armstrong to secure his second goal in Albion colours.
However, the interval could have had a very different feel to it after one moment involving Styles.
Styles fortunate after West Brom incident
The opening half of the clash at The Hawthorns was tightly contested, with neither side carving out any real opportunities, though Styles gifted the visitors a way in front that they didn't take.
Paul Smyth, having been a thorn in the side of the Baggies throughout the game, looked to create an opening on the edge of the West Brom box before being fouled twice by Styles.

QPR made nothing of the set piece, but given the position of the foul, Styles can count himself lucky in that regard, but also to have not been booked, with Tony Brown sharing that sentiment.
Speaking on BBC Radio WM (8 March, 3:26pm), he said: "Very erratic there, wasn't he? He's done two fouls, one after the other, right outside his box.
"He's very lucky."
West Brom must remain consistent
While performances hold value, the biggest thing at this stage in the campaign is the results that can be obtained by the Baggies.
A top-six finish is well and truly in the hands of West Brom, so long as they keep picking up points, no matter how they arrive.
Having succeeded in similar circumstances when at Sunderland, Mowbray knows exactly what it takes to get a team competing at that end of the table.
With 10 games left to play for West Brom, that momentum must be carried forward to not only secure a top-six finish, but also to ensure they are in the best form possible.
