West Brom academy ranked No 1 in England outside of North-West and the South

West Bromwich Albion's academy has been ranked as one of the best in the country in a new report.

Morgan Rogers, Finn Azaz, Tim Iroegbunam, Dara O'Shea, Tom Fellows and Harry Whitwell are among the impressive players who West Brom have produced in recent years.

Now, in a new study by Training Ground Guru, West Brom's academy has been ranked as the 10th best in England and Wales.

Their rankings are done based on how many players clubs have produced who've appeared in senior football in the 2025-26 season.

But how have West Brom stacked up against some of their rivals?

Where West Brom sit in Academy Productivity Rankings

In 2024-25, West Brom were ranked 12th, meaning they've shot up two places over the last year, presumably thanks to the use of academy graduates like Whitwell, Alex Williams, Ollie Bostock and Josh Griffiths.

A weakened array of senior talent last term forced West Brom into looking more at their youthful options, while former players like Rogers went on to achieve stardom at Aston Villa.

Villa have regularly poached talent from The Hawthorns over the last decade or so, meaning they sit four places below the Baggies in the ranking.

In fact, no Midlands side outranks West Brom, who are only beaten by clubs in London, the South and the North-West.

Leeds, Villa, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle are all below Albion and have made the top-20, while the likes of Wolves and Birmingham are miles behind.

Who are the next hotshots to keep an eye on at West Brom?

The aforementioned Bostock is someone who West Brom fans will be wanting to keep a close eye on this season.

The London-born 19-year-old, who grew up in Lichfield, was called up to the Wales senior squad in May.

The attacker is yet to play for the Welsh national team but was on the bench in friendlies agianst Ghana and Romania before the World Cup.

He'll turn 20 in February and already has 10 senior appearances to his name with West Brom, as well as one goal.

In August, Bostock scored twice as the Under-21s drew 4-4 with Derby, so the winger is definitely someone who'll be gunning for more game-time under James Morrison this term and potentially adding to the club's academy ranking for next season.
