West Brom player ratings vs Wrexham: Jayson Molumby importance clear, Jimoh-Aloba anonymous

West Bromwich Albion threw away a 2-0 lead at home to Wrexham.

The Baggies dominated the first half, but unlike on so many occasions this season, they got their just rewards for doing so.

Isaac Price's free-kick was deflected into his own net by George Dobson, with Josh Maja doubling Albion's lead late in the first half from the spot.

Wrexham came on strong in the second half, with Josh Windass pulling one back within the first two minutes, with his strike from outside the box finding the far corner.

Dobson was able to right his wrong 15 minutes later, with a very scrappy goal to draw the Red Dragons level, with what would prove to be the last goal of the game.

James Morrison has certainly steadied the ship at The Hawthorns, but West Brom's 2-2 draw with Wrexham will see their relegation fears persist.

Jayson Molumby vital to West Brom hopes

Jayson Molumby has very rarely had the recognition he deserves at West Brom this season, mainly due to the role he is asked to play.

However, when he is absent from the squad, it's clear, and when he features, his importance becomes even more obvious, and that was the case against Wrexham for the most part.

His ability in possession was tidy throughout, and he was not afraid to get stuck in for the Baggies in the middle of the park, nullifying the central threat from the visitors.

Molumby is the perfect partner for Ousmane Diakite, who had another solid display himself without doing too much of note.

Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba offered nothing vs Wrexham

Aside from a tidy turn that led to a shot being ablooned over the bar, Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba had absolutely no impact in the game at all.

Any of Albion's threat came from the opposite flank, with any attempts to progress up the pitch from his side ultimately ending in nothing.

The teenager completed just three passes in the 72 minutes he was on the pitch, failed to complete any of his three attempted dribbles and lost all but one of his eight duels.

Quite frankly, he couldn't have offered less to the game if he actually tried to.
